Next Door App
|
Next Door is an app that
will be used as a replacement to the emergency notification
system that we had up until January 1, 2020. Please note
that you must have either a cell phone capable of receiving
e-mail and utilizing apps or have a computer.
1. On your computer, go to
www.nextdoor.com -OR- on
your phone download the Next Door app.
2. Follow the instructions to enter your Tippecanoe
address. You will be told that you are in the "Bohannon"
neighborhood. Please note that we have no control over
this. We have been in contact with the administration of
this app and their policy is to establish "neighborhoods" of
between 750 and 1000 homes. We explained to them that,
being an HOA, we have unique concerns to our residents that do
not apply to residents of the Bohannon neighborhood outside of
Tippecanoe Village. Their policy does not allow us to
divide this neighborhood but they do allow sub-groups with
existing neighborhoods. We have created a group called
"Tippecanoe Village."
3. At this point, follow a series of questions/steps to
register as a user of Next Door.
4. Once your registration is complete, click on the
"Groups" option. You will find Tippecanoe Village listed.
5. Click on this group and "request" admission.
6. One of our residents is the "Lead" of this group.
Once your request is seen, you will be authorized.
7. From this point, you will be notified of new posts in
the group.
Unlike the previous system we used, anyone registered in the
group can post notices. As long as this isn't misused,
this will be a plus. Also note that posts here do not have
to be of an emergency nature. We can use this to alert
people of meetings, events, things for sale ... virtually
anything. On the down side (potentially), you will also
receive notices posted in the larger Bohannon neighborhood.
As the neighborhood and our group grows, these notices will
increase. Many current users simply ignore these if they
do not pertain to them.
Unlike the previous system, these notifications will not come in
the form of texts. They will appear as emails or as
notifications through the app on your phone.

Attention |
All perspective buyers and renters of homes in Tippecanoe
Village are required to have a background check prior to closing
on the property or renting the home. It is the responsibility
of the home owners to notify their purchaser or renter so that
they may contact the office to have this done. You
can download the form here. |
